MCS Document Processing Clerk

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Document Clerk is responsible for accurately processing physical documents and preparing source data for computer entry by compiling information.  The role will include filing/organizing documents for future reference.  This includes verifying all contents as it relates to prepping, scanning, and indexing for document imaging operations to deliver daily and weekly financial targets.

Primary Duties:

  • Follow all company and department processes and training
  • Handling documents of all conditions and preparing documents for scanning, to include removing fasteners, taping and fixing tears needed to ensure the document will properly scan
  • Analyzing information to identify document types and sorted documents per job instructions
  • Identify errors and correct any errors in data and escalate to supervisor, when appropriate
  • Scan documents into the system for data entry clerks
  • Identify classified documents and other electronic content, according to varying characteristics
  • Efficiently sort incoming correspondence and undeliverable mail
  • Adhere to all confidentiality rules and policies
  • Enter alphabetic, numeric or symbolic data from source documents into the computer, following the format displayed on the screen

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic computer knowledge in MS Word and MS Excel
  • 1+ years of data entry experience with the ability to type 35 WPM
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and utilize search tools to find information
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
